Maldives Boat Safari

We had a Boat Safari last week and we had a chance to snorkel some of the most beautiful reefs I have ever seen. I've never wanted an underwater camera so bad!!! Instead I tried to capture life on the boat. I didn't have as much success as I'd hoped with the bright sun and few filters. Oh well! I hope these give you an idea.

This was a beautiful time of day. Benjamin went fishing with Rob and they spotted two sting rays and a few dolphins skipping in the setting sun. I sat and drank in the peace and beauty for a few minutes but I was drawn back to my camera before long to try to capture the mood.

Here is a beautiful dolphin playing with it's buddies. There were maybe 50 swimming around Rhihiveli resort and we happened to go by. I truly enjoyed the show.

...A little rain must fall

Monsoon season is right around the corner and I've been told we can expect much more of this.

Forlorn!

Benjamin pop's out of the water long enough for a few clicks of the shutter.

The sun is so hot around noon that I could barely hold my EOS. The one condition I had for taking the boys out was that they sit together without fighting for a moment!

Life in the sun

Benjamin, my first born, enjoying the simple pleasures that being at the beach can offer.
Gabriel, who has recently turned three also has his moment of zen.
Motorcycles are the mode of transportation on the Main Island of the Maldives, Male. Both for low price and space, or lack thereof. Every street has a non ending line of them. You can barely get across the street sometimes.
Gabriel is captivated by all the fish going by the submarine window

The boy next door.

I do love when the day turns into those pinks and purples. What would a blog about the life in the tropics be without a picture of a palm tree.
